I'm getting very stoked about our Boundary Waters trip this week. Mollie's coming up to St Paul on Tuesday and we'll have a great time shopping and packing and partying and then 6 whole days!! of outdoor adventure. Have I mentioned that a canoe camping trip has long been on my list of things to do before I die? Cause it is. And a week and a half from now, I can officially cross it off.
We've been packing food (woodfire pizzas?? Oh yeah) and camping gear that has that fantastic semi-musty, residual-campsmoke smell. I haven't been camping camping in a very long time, and even pseudocamping (ie, campers at camp) in 2 summers. Not to mention, I'll get to spend more time with Mollie than I have in years, and with my uncle and cousin who are also neat people. Also the fist official 'vacation' I've been on since college, at least, where I didn't have to be an archaeologist, or a water polo player, or a swimmer. Which may sound weird, because I've gone so many places and travelled so much in college, but it's always been for a larger prupose, and not just to get away from things and relax and have a good time. But this is.
Really, really exciting.
